The National Career Clusters Framework is organized into Career Technical Education (CTE) programs, curriculum design, and instruction. There are 16 Career Clusters in the National Career Clusters Framework, representing 79 career pathways to help learners navigate to greater college and career success. The framework also functions as a useful guide in developing programs of study bridging secondary and postsecondary systems and creating individual student plans of study for a complete range of career options. As such, it helps learners discover their interests and passions and empowers them to choose the educational pathway that can lead to success in high school, college, and career. Please use this link - NCSD Career and Technical Career Pathways and Programs of Study to see the courses in each program of study, industry-recognized credentials offered, and sample careers/jobs after graduation.
Within each of the Career Clusters, there are numerous Programs of Studies in which NCSD students can participate to reach an industry-recognized credential.

Within each of the Career Clusters, there are numerous Programs of Studies in which NCSD students can participate to reach an industry-recognized credential. The Wyoming Department of Education describes a career technical education program of study as “A high-quality program of study coordinates a sequence of academic and technical content that adheres to state standards; addresses academic knowledge and technical skills; progresses in specificity; includes multiple entry/exit points; and culminates with the acquisition of an industry-recognized credential (IRC).”
The Wyoming Department reviews the programs of study through a CTE Collection submitted through a data compilation each October. The review of the programs is to ensure guidelines are met for Perkins V funding, to qualify for the state funding model, education resource block grant, and for Hathaway CTE course approval.
