Foreign Exchange

There are limitations and requirements for foreign exchange students attending NCSD secondary/high schools (grades nine through twelve). Eligibility requirements must be met prior to enrollment.

Eligibility
Eligible students must utilize a Foreign Exchange Student Program to be considered for enrollment. Students must be between the ages of 16-18 by Sept 1st of the school year in which he/she plans to attend NCSD #1. The eligibility process also includes evidence of good health and a current immunization record.

Academic Records
A transcript is required that shows the student is prepared academically. This document must include evidence showing proficiency in the ability to communicate (written and spoken) using the English language. Students will only be registered for a full academic year (Fall to Spring), placed in the most appropriate grade level that most closely matches the grade in which the student would have been placed in his/her country of origin. High school diplomas are not granted to students participating in the exchange system.

Please contact the school's principal or see Administrative Regulation 5130 for additional information.
