Course Description
English/Language Arts III Honors courses build on knowledge from Language Arts II in the areas of grammar, vocabulary, word usage, and the conventions of writing at an honors level. These courses offer a balanced focus on reading, writing, language, speaking and listening. Through the study of various genres of American Literature and informative texts - including foundational United States documents- students will read and comprehend proficiently. This course is aligned to the common core state standards and is preparatory for the ACT. Collaborative research and cross-curricular connections are required.
