Course Description

This course is foundational for both crewed and uncrewed aviation. It will prepare students to take the Federal Aviation Administration, Private Pilot Knowledge Exam. Topics include preflight procedures, airspace, radio communications, aviation terminology, regulations, airport operations, aviation safety, weather, cockpit management, and emergency procedures. Students who complete Aviation 2 and 3a with a C or higher will receive a Private Pilot Ground School Certificate endorsed by an FAA Basic Ground Instructor. If students sign up for BOCES credit, they will complete AVTN 2510 - Private Pilot Ground (3 credits) from Casper College.
