Course Description

This course will integrate the SkillsUSA Career Essential Fundamental Curriculum into the classroom experience. This curriculum bundle includes all the resources a student will need to earn the fundamental micro-credential. This includes the Career Essentials: Experiences fundamental course as well as its pre- and post-assessment. The Skills USA Career Essentials: Experiences fundamental course is designed for individuals who are freshmen or sophomores in high school seeking a course that will help you develop and practice your employability skills. Through this course, you will implement - practice, receive feedback, and try some more - the 17 Essential Elements of the SkillsUSA Framework. Learners who successfully complete this course will have engaged in workplace experiences, developed an understanding of the relationship between Essential Elements, and so much more. The learning in this course is designed to be contextualized around the life of a 14- to 16-year-old. You will have a rich, meaningful, and individual experience during each project activity and e-learning module completed. Successful completion of this course (a score of 80% or greater) is one of the two requirements for learners to earn the fundamental micro-credential.
