Course Description
Understanding and Creating Culture is a course that analyzes cultural systems at both the micro and macro levels. Through this analysis students will understand the myriad factors that go into creating, maintaining, communicating, and archiving the manifestations of communal beliefs. Through analysis of artwork, sporting events, language, dress, social norms, and other social institutions students will have a working knowledge of what culture is, how to identify differing groups, and how to communicate their findings.
