Course Description
The Army Junior ROTC course is a four year program with the goal of motivating young people to be better citizens. The JROTC program develops this goal using the venue of leadership. The first level is the Developing Leader. The second level is the Emerging Leader. The third level is the Supervising Leader. The fourth level is the Managing Leader. All of these levels build on developing the leadership ability of the cadet. The building blocks are self awareness, goal setting, decision making, team building, management, project management, personal and career planning. Academic success is developed using study skills, thinking maps, developing and improving communication skills and styles through writing and speaking, multiple intelligences. Leadership is developed through placing cadets in leadership positions. across all four years of the program. Electives are available in civics, conflict resolution, ethics, and career planning. Cadets participate in a wide variety of school and community service projects to get the feel of serving the community they live in.
