American Sign Language I

This course will provide beginning level knowledge of American Sign Language, fingerspelling, deafness, and deaf culture.  Emphasis will be on developing receptive and expressive language skills within the parameters of Sign Language using the American Council on Teaching of Foreign Language 5 C’s to include: Communication, Culture, Connections, Comparisons and Community.
